Torokiki

The Otherwalls

In Progress: a comic that will blend the line between several storytelling styles to create a cohesive narrative. We are interested in experimenting with the interactive relationship between author and audience and the effect this has on the narrative.
DWS

April 2010: This project brought friends together to celebrate New Zealand’s amazing history, particularly the Wellington Centennial Exhibition. They were challenged (by automaton ‘Doctor Wellandstrong‘) to research and visit locations significant to Wellington’s history. They were rewarded with artifacts, and memorabilia we made ourselves. The game culminated in a film screening of Centennial Exhibition footage at the Wellington Time Cinema.
Webstock Game

February 2010: This project encouraged attendees at Webstock 2010 to interact, extending the conference vibe by sharing their thoughts and images. In under a week, we designed a collection of ‘quests’ to create an online game that then ran over the two main days of the conference.
The Case of the Midnight Note

January 2010: This transmedia detective story played out across Twitter, Flickr, and Facebook, drawing the audience into the gritty world of a Noir Wellington. Told through tweets, illustrations, photos, comics, audio plays, and finally live theatre, it culminated in a fund-raising fancy dress party at Bettyʼs Digital Media Bar. A project to raise money to help folks attend Webstock 2010.
